Tanglewood Marionettes

Last week the Tanglewood Marionettes performed a show called The Dragon King for us at school.  It was AMAZING!  Perhaps meeting the Dragon King was the most exciting part for the audience...you'll need to ask you child for more information!

See you next year!

Thank you to our wonderful helpers today for sending us off on vacation in a fantastically fun way!  Your class gift was so amazing and generous - I am so thankful for you all and teaching these amazing kids each day!  Health and Peace in the New Year!

Thank you PTO!

Indoor recess was so much fun today thanks to all the fun "extras" given to our classroom by the PTO. The Legos sure were a hit!

Fairy Tale Project

What is a Fairy Tale?
Check out the link if you have questions about what makes a book a fairy tale.

Want to check out a list of some well known fairy tales?  Click here.

Try out lots of fairy tales and choose one for your project.  Try to have your choice made by the end of October so you have plenty of time to work on your project.

Want some inspiration?  Check out these projects from previous students...

P.I.N.

It was wonderful meeting so many moms and dads last night!  What a lovely bunch - it is not wonder why this class of kids is so amazing already!  I want to thank parents for taking the time out of busy schedules to come into our classroom.  I really believe it helps our kids understand how much we value them and their education.
In case you wish to view the quick slideshow again, here is the link

Happy Friday

This week was shorter, but we sure accomplished a lot!  We have built our reading stamina to over 13 minutes (!), met Franklin (Wheelock's service dog), learned about indoor recess choices, and worked really hard to show a YES line in the hallway.  It is only our 16th day of second grade, but we are starting to rock at being Wheelockians!
